November 1 – 30, 2008: National Runaway Prevention Month
November 2008 is National Runaway Prevention Month. The National Runaway Switchboard (NRS) and the National Network for Youth (NN4Y), in partnership with other prominent national organizations, are promoting a community approach to runaway prevention. Partners signed on to a letter that includes links to the National Runaway Switchboard's Community Action Kit and other resources. Download the partner letter for more information.November 16 – 22, 2008: National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Each year, one week before Thanksgiving, the National Coalition for the Homeless and the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness co-sponsor the National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. During this week, schools, communities, and cities take part in a nation-wide effort to bring greater awareness to the problems of hunger and homelessness.
